I just bought an Elite 2200 from Big 5 Sporting Goods. It is made by Bounty Hunter and is similar to one of the regular Bounty Hunter models posted on the Bounty Hunter web site. I however do not know which one is like the Elite 2200. Do any of you know?
So far (2 hours into it) it seems impressive although not infallible. It found an old Miller beer can (circa 1974) about 11 inches down but indicated it was a 1$.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Elite 2200, it is all "touch pad" operated with a large LCD screen that shows nine likely targets, likely depth and has 4 indicator tones. The other model that Big 5 had on sale had two knobs and three tones and was called the "Fortune Hunter."
Next week I'll be over in ION (Idaho, Oregon Nevada) country with topo maps and aerial photos, looking for old homesteads etc to explore.
