BHID problem

Moe (FL)

New member
I was setting up my brand new Beach Hunter ID this evening and when I tried to open the battery compartment one of the pins holding the latch fell off. I couldn't believe my luck since the machine was purchased 2 days ago. Has this happened to anyone? Is this a rare thing?

I am afraid that the whole latch may come off if not fixed (replaced). The pins are welded (4 pins).

moe, i don't care for the latch and pin set up on the bhid, i think a system more like the fisher cz or 1280 would have been better. i noticed a big dent on the pin(on my bhid) that takes the most pressure when closing the latch. my guess is that it is a big problem with the beachhunter. i mean it takes a hell of a lot of force to close that latch assembly. it one of the negatives of the bhid along with the preset disc. hh, bob n.

I ment to mention on the other forum...you should push plug in with your fingers fully then slide metal latch part over plastic pins then lock latch system. Moe have you seen your local dealer yet? I know he or she will fix this issue for you. Let us know the out come.
