BHID harness

I just got a new Beach Hunter ID, and have a question on chest-mounting the control box. I'm trying to use a military LC-1 harness, but one of the black straps on the yellow control box pouch runs right over the red light on the unit. As far as I can tell there's only way way to put the control box in the pouch and still have access to the knobs and switch, so Is there a better way?

I took a tie-wrap and "pulled the strap over", strapping it to one of the belt loops on the pouch. Works fine. I used a carrying strap from an old small duffel bag and made a neck strap, clipping the metal ends to the D-rings on the pouch. Works OK, the cushioning at the neck that was already on the strap helps. I have a bino strap coming, the kind where your binos hang at your chest, if this works properly the weight on my neck will be transferred to my shoulders, appreciated although I don't find the neck strap annoying yet. So in a short time I've come up with several working solutions, all inexpensive or free. I've gone through enough straps and combinations that I have at least three options to chest mount the control box now, all of which will work to varying degrees of comfort. I can choose to have the box float from my neck or not depening on how deep I am in the water, and I can have the box tight to my chest if I bang my teeth on it bending down to scoop. Of course maybe I'll find a gold mouth grill..... nah, I'll just melt it.
Now if I could just improve the ability to see the lights in direct sunlight..........
