The above MD is now a deleted model and there are some for sale at good prices on the net, but is it a good buy? Is the technology out of date? Anyone have an idea why it is being deleted?


Also, how does one know when a MD needs to be sent back to the factory to be re tuned? Does it have anything to do with the age of the detector and/or amount of usage? I have heard mention of this from more than one source, just need some clarification on it. I have recently retired and have a Sharp Shooter Ultra Mag that I bought five years ago but due to work never have had an opportunity to use much.

I have sent mine in for repair/re-tuning when I start getting a LOT of false signals, or when the readings come up consistently wrong...I would say it is a good idea to send it in every 3 years anyway...
