BH Time Ranger Coil Question 7" open center

Got the stock 8" and 4" on my new TIme Ranger -- i see some newer (lower priced models ) BH models are sold with a 7" open centre design --just wondering if this 7" coil will work on my 6.9 khz time ranger ---i dont know the frequency of these other BH models , thanks in advance rick --------------

Rick, the coils that came with your detector are generally the best to use as they are calibrated to your machine at the factory. While you might be able to use the 7 inch , not sure about that, your machine might I.D. a little different from my understanding. I know you can use the 7.25 closed coil, but not sure about the 7 inch open center, which i am assuming is from a discovery 1100 ? I can use the coils from the discovery 3300 on my other bounty hunter machines and i assume the 1100 is no different. Walmart used to sell a machine similar to the 1100.

The Time Ranger is calibrated to the 4 and 8 inch coils. The 7 inch coil is electrically a little different so the calibration will be off. It'll probably work more or less okay, but slight chance it may not be usable. Anyway no need, you've already got things covered with the 4 and the 8.
