BH Ranger Pro: I'm new and need some help

My father in law recently gave us his one or two year old BH Ranger Pro. The only thing is..there are no instructions. Although enthusiastic, my wife and I (Tampa, FL) have no idea how to use it really.
It seems to be one that was made specifically for Bass Pro Shops. Does anyone know if this model equates to a main stream Bounty Hunter so that I might try and get a copy of the instruction manual.

Also maybe you could let me know if we got a good quality machine. My father in law only used it a couple of times and never became a metal detector guru or anything like that.
