It all depends on your settings, if you are mainly coin shooting, I have found that I set my detector to auto notch and set my sensitivity to almost full, about an 1/8 turn from full, and set my disc to about 3/4 and you should get hits between 8 to 10 inches. You will probally need to slow your swing speed down. With that you should be able to get deeper hits.
Hope it works for you.

I have a sharp shooter II almost same as quick draw except with ground balance . I have never dug a coin deeper than 6 or 7 inches average is more like five.

I've had one for a couple of years and I haven't found very many deeper than that. The deepest coins I've dug were a wheat at 6" and a clad quarter at 7". The quarter hit on almost every swing but the wheat only hit every couple of swings.
