BH Platinum with 4" coil

Had anyone tried to use the Standard 4" coil (4COIL - not the 4" DD made for the Platinum) on a Platinum?

I have heard from others that the standard 4" won't work well, if at all. You have to use the 5" DD that is made for the Platinum. I don't have one yet for my Platinum but I hear that the 5" DD gets great depth and target separation.

JSC, I ran across a old post of yours where you sometimes couldn't get the Platinum to GB in mineralized soil. It could be tough ground that the Platnium can't handle. Try this next time. Sometimes it works. Instead of having the coil in the air prior to pressing the GB button (yes, the manual tells us to do it that way). Have the coil flush on the ground, the press the GB button and do the GB as you usually do.
