BH lonestar tips

I am finding tons of trash and I don't have a yard I can test in. I live at an apartment. I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what settings to use or what settings they use in certain situations. Any advice will be appreciated.

Hey Nathan. I'll try to help by suggesting you do "air testing" inside, at home. Point the coil up and wave junk metal and good metal (the stuff you want to find) over the coil and listen to the different tones. Learn the tones. This should help you figure out what to dig and what not to dig when you are outside hunting. Adjust the distance at which you wave items over the coil. Keep in touch with others on this forum. Happy Hunting. Matt.

I use the lone star regularly. At most of my hunting sites, its possible to hunt in all metal mode without digging too much trash. However, it seems like you're in a different situation. If you're just starting out, use the disc. mode for hunting, and, as matthias mentioned, learn the tones. Additionally, if you are having trouble with a particular kind of trash, you might want to dial in a little bit of discrimination. If this still doesn't work, consider heading to another site. Parks and school grounds are naturally good places to go, and the likelihood of finding more good targets is better. Hope this helps, abcoin.
