BH LandStar concern this am... :-(

Morning all!

My detector seemed to work fine till this am.. :-( I am getting a ton of 6+ inch deep signals, 25 and 50 cents... dig them and its foil or a flattened bottle cap... even on the surface the flattened bottle cap (older metal one) shows in the silver 10-50 cent range... jumping...

I have not changed anything... I put in fresh batteries... re-ground balanced...

Is my detector broke?

Paul

Nope...some of the older caps (Especially the larger ones) had a zinc content to them, and show in the zinc or dime range...I have this happen to me on occasion...Especially where youngsters hang out drinking or partying...I also show flattened old tin cans or old beer cans in the 25 cent to 50 cent range...They just overload the machine because the target is so big...Put your coil over a manhole cover and see what happens...whoooeeee!!!

If it continues to do this in other locations, it may be time to question the tuning of the detector...I just mailed mine off to First Texas today to be re-tuned or repaired...I am hoping they replace my whole circuit board or control box...
