If you get a good signal from one direction , say east to west and back, but here nothing north to south and back
it is most likley a false halo signal from Iron or alum trash.
If I can't get a 4 direction read I won't dig most. This tip will save u a lot of time and headache.
Take a nail and some coins and place them side to side and see the recovery time .
In my area in NC the bottle caps read a 60-61-62, pennies from 68 to 89, dimes 80 to 98
quarters almost always 113- 114
If it's a deep wheat it can throw a 130 or 133 sometimes. not sure why.
I like this detector and have dug wheats at 7 inches , it's not an e-trac but for the price
I can't complain. Hope this helps , happy hunting friend.
P.S. At an old school i hunt , I have dug silver washingtons, merc dimes, rosie's, and wheats to 1919 ....it WILL do it !
