I have the BH Discovery 2200 and must say I love it. One question is can the coil be used in water (as long as I don't put the whole Metal Detector under)

should be if you really want to know call this #1-800-413-4131 and ask for parts dept and tell them what model your detector is and your question and they'll tell you,i have a dicovery3300 and i had to do that and they said that the coil was water proof.Hope this helps you.....john.

I have the Elite 2200 which is functionally identical to your machine. It is by far the best for the money out there. I owned a 505 and the 2200 ran circles around it. It is lighter weight, so less fatiguing, easier to read with its HUGE LCD display and can be adjusted using the swinging arm's hand. You made a wise decision getting the 2200. Some consider it in the "Professional" range, whatever that may mean.
