BH Discovery 2200 at coast?

Has anyone ever used one on the west coast? I plan to go over to Coos Bay, Oregon next week and would like to try detecting on the coast if the 2200 is up to it. Figure it might be easier to learn the machine where the junk stuff is easier to dig up. Grin Would like to maybe find some rings or other jewelry with it. Anybody have any ideas?
