BH Coils

twalton

New member
Are there other brands of coils that use the same type connector as a BH? Has anyone tried another brand with success? Do they detect a deeper signal?
Come on people, educate me!

HH, twalton

I don't know twalton, but I hope someone does. I've wanted a lot bigger coil for a long time! Personally I'd love a 14" to 18" (prefer 18") coil for the deeper targets at the beach. It seems to take forever to cover any ground with the 10" Magnum coil. (the 8" is worse). So come on all you tech wizards, help us all out. I've already emailed BH and got no reply, and we the customers should be listened too re: bigger coils. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

I believe that the Discovery coils will work but they only give you the same sizes 4,8,10. From everything I've been reading is that the coils on the fisher f4 will work also. Don't know the exact size or if it will improve the depth or not but may give an avenue to check into. They are cool looking but how well do they work? There are a lot of f4 users saying nothing but good things about the unit itself, but will you get the same results if installed on your unit? I don't know? I would like to find out myself and also have the $ amount on the coil. Has anyone tried this upgrade???

The BH machines are tuned to the concentric coils...if you use an elliptical or DD coil, I am not sure how accurate the detector would be???...I have never tried the F4 coils, but have also heard they work on the BH machines...
