BFL Bill Ladd = 1235-X

Anytime you'd like to head up this way for some Mexican food, Or better still I found a great Thai place nearby, I'll pay ya.....
Bring the 1270 too, I gutta borrow that to "Git R Dun" @ the Runt Hu...uh The REAL hunt

Would you know if a CZ-5 will fit onto a 1235X rod?

For a few years now, I've been playing with the idea of mounting my 5" "hockey puck" onto my 1235X rod, and rod-mounting my CZ-5 onto it, to get into/under some playground equipment or brush out in the woods, while I'm on my knees. The reason for this, is I can shorten the stem almost as short as the diving configuration for a CZ-20. I've done this once, with my 1235X and the stock coil, to get under some bleachers, and had good luck that way.

when I get home if ya want......I was told there are 2 different sized "slider mounts" though. But yea, we had the same idea. Mr. Bill had a 1235x box sitting in his shop he fixed & it just needed a rod assembly. I didn't wanna bother Fisher for one so why not just get a lower rod (got several) & remove the EDge one whenever nessisary. I can even backpack into a wooded site carrying the Edge & have the 1235 box in my bag. I intend to use the 1235 with my rare 3.5" coil at iron loaded cellar holes......(but heck, now that the Edge will have a 5" coil soon It may not matter much anymore afterall.....it sure will be fun to experiment soon!) :D

I just have to dig my way into the back of my garage and pull my 1235X down off the wall.

You might want to try out that 1235 in some of the lakes down there. Its surprising how well it and the 1236 will handle iron in the water and pick out stuff close to iron that other machines have no chance on. Kinda noisy at the low disc required but the rewards are worth it.

Oops, maybe I'm letting out a secret here.

I've got a couple beaches that have a lot of iron in them, but not many. I'm thinking about dragging the bottom with a high-power magnet to get the junk.
