Beware of Junior settings

First of all a Merry X-mas to everyone.

Yesterday decided to take Junior out for a little treasure hunt at the beach.

Set up the E-trac for him, I was using the mighty CTX.
Sounds normal, volume gain 10, 4 tone conduct, coins pattern.
Sens auto -1, deep off, fast off
Small FBS800 coil.
Set up threshold 1 point behind audible, so he was running a beep and dig detector.
No messing about with nulling or iron tones.

Flipped a coin onto the surface, told him to sweep it.
Dig everything that sounds like that. No pinpointing, just center coil and dig a hole, go over the spoil.

Finds, well I got more quantity with the CTX. But then I've got several hundreds more hours on the machine than him on the E-trac.
A few coins, few bullets, 2 keys, some copper scrap,.... the usual.

Clad, well.... I got smoked BIG TIME.
The little varmint bought me a cup of coffee and him some hot chocolate milk with his E-trac clad count!!

AAAAHHHH, the shame of it,....
Pretty proud of the little critter though.

HA HA HA ! Nice !

That will teach you to say to the critter ...... "dig everything that sounds like that."

Merry Xmas btw.

I do not have any Children, but I can imagine a Father/Son hunt has got to be some of the most quality time you can have...

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Hunting,

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and Happy Hunting,

Happy Holidays!

Little critter isn't exactly little anymore, an 18 year old which at the moment is trying to kill the family runabout, learning the intricate workings of driving stick!!
We've got 2 daughters, 2 son in laws, and 3 grand kids Joshua, James and Timo.
Just waiting for little critter to turn up on the doorstep with a female of the species in the not so distant future.

Nice to spend some time on a sunny cold winter beach, chasing finds.

Teenagers generally don't really relate to fishing and detecting.
Mine are more into Iphones, surfing, horse riding, beach parties, etc. etc.
The girls and wife like the small jewelry finds and love fresh caught fish.

Now and again they endure my company for a few hours, shut off their satellite uplink to their friends and become human again.
Hey they even treat dad to a cup of coffee, just to show off .... the little varmint!!
