The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Hey folks,

Just wanted to warn everyone of this character. His name is Marc Sinke and he lives in Middleville, Michigan. We had correspondence in regards to a trade, my AT Pro for his White's Dual Field PI. He received my detector June 23rd and I never received anything. He refused to accept my calls or respond to my messages. After finally getting in touch with him, it was excuse after excuse why I never received a machine... finally resulting in him stating it was stolen. He offered to pay for the AT Pro and sent me $100 to start with. My mistake was accepting it which turned it into a civil court matter and not theft according to the police. He was sneaky in sending the cash knowing it would lead to a civil matter and that he would be able to skirt around police. It is now the end of November and I have not received any other money. he dodges calls, emails, and messages. I'm just boned it seems. You live and learn, I just pray no one else gets hit by him. He may go under alias user names on various forums so be forewarned. His address returns info that it is occupied by Marc Sinke and Darci Ezinga, so avoid either name... This guy is a real scumbag and I hope his kids find out what a piece of crap he is and that there Xmas presents will be bought with the money from my AT Pro this year... Remember Marc, Karma is a hell... goodluck with it.

Not implying Sir, you did anything wrong....... Just saying we all must be careful who we deal with.. Feedback is an important part of the decision..

Let this be a reminder to all...... Scammers are out there... Know who your dealing with ............. and if there is any doubt, DON'T Do It !!!!
 
That is true know who you deal with and in most states and in NY for sure if you accept any cash for something and they do not pay the rest you are screwed. I would still follow through with civil court if you can he would have to pay the rest.
 
Not entirely sure if he is on this forum, but no the deal was not on Findmall. Just throwing it out there in case you come across him anywhere.
 
put his address out here and see if theres any honest hunters around his area that might be able to recover it for you??

I would definately pursue the civil suit .... why give him the satisfaction of putting one over on you?
 
that is why i only will deal with members that are known on this forum and if someone only has a few posts i would not even consider dealing with them,
Jason, really sorry to hear this has happened to you but hope some of our forum members who live in the area of this scumbag can get your detector back

I just found this and realized that you put my name in it, like I was part of the scam Marc pulled on you. I don't appreciate this at all. I had nothing to do with what went on between you two. In fact I was the only one who would answer your phonecalls and talk to you about the situation. I am sorry this happened to you and I understand why you are so mad but please don't include my name in this whole beware of Marc Sinke. Like I said I had nothing to do with it and don't apprecaite being called a scammer. Could you please take my name out of this, I don't think this is fair to me.

I don't think he accused you of being a part of the scam Darci, he said you lived at the same address.
 
Thank you for posting this - I wish I had checked the web before I had agreed to the transaction I entered into 2 weeks ago. Your story above is almost exactly my experience in trying to resolve the issue. Finally, I was able to go through his current work and they retrieved my property for me, after which they became is former employer -- so all's well on my end except for two weeks of back and forth emails and my time and my embarrassment at being so gullible. Btw, the police told me that civil court is the only option when two people have an oral contract and then one or the other subsequently does not fulfill his/her obligations.

There should be a "black list" of shady individuals here for everyone to see. I can think of one right off the top of my head .. (cough-cough) silverman (cough-cough!) Ahem .. excuse me !
 
I will only do a deal in person, or have a friend or relative do it for me. If it is a fair deal,it will come around again.

The suggestion of having a forum member drive by this guy's house is crazy and a way to get someone hurt.

Putting someone's name out there can be a problem, I can be curious why someone who has nothing to do with the problem has knowledge of the original messages.
 
It is a shame that there are such people in this world. The woman at that address should have helped you resolve the situation, if things transpired the way you reported.
