Between the ice

I got out to a local lake today and found there was a bit of ice along the shore and a large open edge area with most of the lake still frozen over. It was cold in the water but sure felt good to be wading and detecting again so I carried on and got a few good targets including a nice 1950 silver quarter. A few hours after I got in the ice began to blow inshore and I had to hop out before I got caught between the shore ice and the incoming ice. Had a coffee on the beach to warm up while I watched the ice climb up onshore piling up higher and higher and bringing some good size boulders with it. An entertaining way to end a fun day out.

Here's the loot, and here's hoping the ice will all be gone soon.

Tvr, the bottle came up in my scoop and the colour caught my eye, but it turned out to be a modern vicks vaporub bottle...lol.
