[attachment 245005 923001.jpg]I have had my XS for about 2 years now. Ive played around with the settings and found some very nice things very deep with it. Well i have a new site. The house was built in 1846 and was still used til the very late 1960s. I have found large cents, indianhead pennies, wheat pennies, shield nickels, buffalo nickels, jefferson nickels, barber dimes, rosies. I also pulled out 2 5 gallon buckets of trash. This place is iron infested also. The problem i am having is all coins have been 2 inches or less in depth. Is there any way to get deeper?

Sounds like the trash is overwhelming your coil. Do you have a small coil you could use? The XS with the original stock coil can easily hit 9" coins. Max all settings at 10, use -6 iron mask with fast on and a small coil and go EXTREMELY SLOW. That is the best I can tell you.

with the great finds you are making just maybe you are not hearing deeper coins as they are all at that 2 inch mark what a great site you,ve found

This is a field. Nothing standing. There are many coins laying on top of the ground. There has to be many more buried. Think i will switch from deep to fast and go a lot slower. I have a 8 inch coil that i always use. I have never seen a site like this. There is so much glass. Had an indianhead and a memorial within inches of one another.

If you dont have your gain at 10 you need to. Weak signals get lost if they are modulated by a less gain. Hunting in Ferr could help with iron as long as there arent a lot of hot rocks. I ran my IM just about AM to eliminate minerals. Some other good ideas Jeff has as well.

This is exactly how i have it setup except i was using deep instead of fast. I will try that. Thanks for the help
