Better Late Than Never - 2010 Finds!

I did a big scan of my coin finds from 2010. It was a great year! Two trips to the token house with Neal really put a bunch of tokens in there. Look I found a small cache, har har! What a great hobby.

:thumbup:WtG nice hunting

the first thing i thought before i read your post was ..... man where was he hunting CHINA. I saw all those coins with holes in them. Thats a lot of tokens. I enjoy finding them and old buttons. I got some good ones this year ... but not nearly the amount you have. Howd Neal do for the year on them? I made me a copy of the Indiana Token book. Had to order it thru the library system... they just dont make them, i think it was a 1984 book. Bunch of nice finds.

Nice finds and that's a boat load of tokens. Have you been able to ID most of them? Check out www.tokencatalog.com to help ID some of them. Happy Hunting!

Big Fang,

I'm a big fan of the 2

For being a short lived coin, they sure seem to turn up quite often around here (SW MI). One disclaimer though, when I did the scan, my last finds were sitll on the scanner. Being early in the am, I just put the rest of my 2010 finds on there. Well, in reality the finds that were on the scanner were from 2011 earlier this month - I didn't think about that at the time. So one 2 cent piece, two rosies, a merc, an IH and a Japanese coin were actually found this year.

I love finding the two centers! I found one more last year that was totally rough green corroded on one side and nice but badly scratched on the reverse. I was sick when I saw the huge gash I put into it until I turned it over. It went into my junk coins bin.

Thanks and HH - BF

Believe it or not Neal beat me on totals for both trips this year to the token farm! We stumbled onto it a couple years ago and must have hunted it together at least six times. It is a country farm house with lots of yard. The tokens were everywhere. I found nine in one hole once! Neal still beat me though. We usually end up each getting around twenty or so. Lets see 20 times six, times two hunters - around 280 tokens from one home site! There are more I am sure. We really lucked out when we knocked on that door. Super nice owner too.
Thanks and HH - BF

That sure is a purty seated quarter!!!!

Dude!!! You found a Donkey Kong Banana Coin. That is so cool!!!. (Said with the attitude of a 20 something gamer). Still very cool.
