how can i get better depth with my sov xs 2a pro?
just got it and need help thinking of getting a fisher and selling the sov. help me!!!!!!!

Go slower and listen to the very faint signals!!! Also hunt in reverse discrimination as much as possible. To do this, slowly hunt in allmetal mode and listen ONLY to the FAINT signals. When you find a fain signal in allmetal.. switch to disc mode and listen to the treshold signal. If it DOES NOT NULL, then dig the target.. if it nulls.. then pass it up. This is the best way to obtain maximum depth with the Sovereign!
Going back to the Fisher is NOT the answer but a man has to do what a man has to do. The Sovereign is a DEEP machine for the guy or gal who will learn it.

Clif,
The depth is there I think, just have to learn how to know you have a deep signal and know what to listen for. With the 8 inch Coinsearch coil and the Sunray S 8 we are getting 10-12 inches, but these are faint signals that dont show the correct numbers and the tones are weak, but with the Sovereign wiggle will know they are trying to climb.
We run Sensitivity at the 9-11 o'clock position, no notch, no or very little disc and go slow and listen close with a good set of headphones.
I used to have a CZ7 and it has depth, but not very good ID as it ID a lot of junk as coins and deep coins as iron, that is why I dont have it and have 2 Sovereigns and a Explorer. I have got deep coins that 2 differnt guys with CZ couldnt get a signal on, so I feel the Sovereign is deeper seeking and beter ID.
How long have you had the Sovereign?? It took me a good week to feel comfortable with it and a good 2 weeks before I was digging some real deep coins that the others couldnt. I am sure glad I didnt give up on the Sovereign or I woiuldnt have a large collection of silver and IH the last 5 years.
Good luck and hope you be digging some deep silver.
Rick
