Woke up this morning only to look outside and see it raining hard. Nothing new of late because this past week we've had rain about every other day. Just before noon the rain had moved out of the area and the ground was primed for some heavy hunting. Grabbed the E-trac and headed to a old local park just a few blocks away from the house. Mind you in the past year I have pulled many old coins from this park most of them being 6 inches and deeper. Countless mercs, barbers, Indian heads and the occasional tokens here and there. Since Ive pounded this spot so much lately the targets are getting less and less and getting harder to find but today would be no different. My strategy today was to hit the wooded tree line around the perimeter of the park. Total finds today......1-1900 barber quarter...... 3-mercs 1917,1920 and 1940......2 Wheaties 1929 and 1937 and a confirmation pin and a old "5 cents in trade" aluminum token......half of this token is corroded so its hard to totally identify it. I will try to get pics on here as soon as I can. Thanks for taking the time to read my post....J.B.

Congrats on the great finds! When I read your post, I was thinking that I could have written the exact same thing about the park I have been hunting for almost three years. I can't tell you how many times I have screamed "this place is hunted out" only to find something sweet the next time out.

Thanks for the story J.B.. Send some rain this way. We've seen less than 4 inches since this time last year!

I think you Americans are lucky having a new country , well nearly new :D as the amount of coins you all find is very good unlike here where comparable coins would be several hundred years older and they are like rocking horse :D and much harder to find. Coins of say a hundred or two would get put firmly into the dross box LOL
Well done and keep it up.
