best way to remove mud in the speaker:Garrett Pro Pointer

adamant

I can hardly hear her. After I get it clean I am putting a piece of taPe over the speaker. What's the best way to clean it?

I was cleaning it very carefully with a toothpick before I started putting a piece of duct tape over it.

So mud would wash away instantly.. ??????????????????????????????????????????????????????

I clean mine with a wet washcloth.

The last two hunts last November were in about three inches of wet sloppy snow and the ground was saturated. Gloves became a gooey mess and had to change them twice. Anyway the speaker holes on the propointer got really packed with mud to the point where you could hardly hear it.

I picked at the mud with a toothpick enough to get it out but also picked out the little cloth they have which is supposed to keep dirt out! The sound did return full volume so now I just place tape over the hole to keep the dirt out. Not worth sending it in for such a minor repair when it is working good.

Other than that, I just use a wet cloth to clean it up and when I really want to be neat, wait til the dirt dries between all the lettering and take a stiff tooth brush to it. Works great.

Does the tape hinder the sound?

best damn product garrett makes!..it's ironic,in that
it's an accessory!..hot damn!..(w.t.f!)..maybe it's got somethin'
to do with the color!..(lol!)..just sayin!

I have several Pro Pointers and have been washing them under warm running water for the last two seasons, so far they're no worse for the wear. I did drop one about 4 feet onto an asphalt parking lot, it still beeped, but the vibrate no longer worked. Garrett was very easy to deal with when getting it taken care of!

It cuts it down a little but I still hear it with the headphones on.

The duct tape cuts the sound on my pro-pointer considerably. But I can still find the target with the pointers vibration.

Mine is too loud even with two wraps of electrical tape. Wish I could shut it up for good. Vibrate is all ya need and keeps onlookers look'in on!
