If you had to choose between the Sand shark...and the Tiger shark? Performance in salt water being the only consideration.
 
The Sand Shark is made to handle the salt water conditions, the Tiger in some places works OK but in others places it may not. If the only criteria is performance, hands down: the Sand Shark.

In fresh water the Tiger would be the clear winner.
 
Sand Shark for salt water diving. Hands down.

Once that was determined and being as its a PI, I'd then close my wallet back up.
I'd return to saving - for a Minleab Excalibur or Fisher CZ20/21. For wading** at the salt beach, they are the way to go.

** Wading defined as chest deep or shallower.
 
It is a PI so you will dig a lot of junk if it is there, but it will work in the salt, I had no luck with the Tiger in salt water.
