Best tool(s) for dry soft sand? Wet sand?

I will be trying my hand at beach searching soon and looking for the best digging instrument(s) for soft dry sand and also wet sand? Thanks anyone who knows.

I use a Nuttall Enterprises scoop. Heres the link : http://www.nuttallenterprises.com/servlet/Detail?no=1 . I really like it. I prefer the stainless steel even though its heavier because I am told it will last me longer. You definately need something like this to work in the water, it can be hard to get through the wet sand. The hole size is good at 1/2 inch (keeps dimes and smaller items from falling out). If you are going to hunt the dry you dont need anything quite so heavy although I like my scoop so much I use it in both. My friend Jess, who prefers the dry sand, simply uses a shovel and a screen to sift out her finds.

Bruce, was that you showing that scoop at the Midwest meeting in Berwyn last weekend? I was quite impressed with it. Just may have to get one for the trips to FL not to mention trying to beat out Ron in Lake Michigan. LOL
