Best time of year to hunt

Around the Puget Sound area of Washington State, there is much brush and undergrowth. Even in areas with just grass, in the spring through late fall, the grass is so high that swinging a MD is almost impossible. It seems to me that late winter or early spring, after any snow has pressed down the vegetation, might be the best time to hunt. The soil would be damp and any grass plugs would rejuvenate quickly.

Until next March, I think I'll just use tie-wraps to connect my Elite 2200 to my Weed Eater and accomplish two things at once.:surprised:

Eureka Mark! You may have just hit upon what could be the next sensation in metal detecting. Better than "chocolate with peanut butter" or "popcorn and salt". A metal detector incorporated into a weed whacker.

The Bounty Hunter Whacker IV.

Boy could I have used one of those a time or two!

I think your on to something here!!!...lol...Whacker IV...I love it!!!...hard to here the tones over the 1/4 HP engine though...lol

HH,

Hey Gogo, you could do what the Dredgers didn't, put a muffler on the darn'd thing. Hey, Route 66 on the air is not that far away. Time to get that new rig, and plan out a new antenna! I got 3 el Mosley up, and a Skelton Cone for 40/75, and a Cool FT-840 on the way! Good Dx and 73! Uh-oh, I got a little carried away again. :lmfao:

Welp, Have not been on the airwaves for about 2 1/2 years now...I know what the Mosely is, but what is a skeleton Cone??? That is a new one on me...840 is a good rig...any Yaesu is a good rig.

HH,

Here in Minnesota, I'd like to hunt in winter but the the operating temp for my time ranger is between 104 and 32 degree F. I'm afraid of ruining it. I think the sites where winter sledding and skiing would be great!
