Best Tesoro in bad ground??

Canewrap

New member
I've heard that the Tejon can get squirrelly in bad ground, like the ground in parts of Central Virginia or North Georgia, or parts of Alabama. Since I'm going to be going up to visit family soon and will get a chance to do some hunting in Virginia, I was wondering if anybody has had much experience with bad ground using one of the Tesoros with adjustable ground balance? I have an Eldorado that I haven't had a chance to try in the bad ground I usually hunt with my MXT and was wondering what people's experience with hot ground are?

Thanks Monte, the small coil is the part I didn't consider. No, the lack of TID doesn't bother me. I was starting to get used to the different sounds of the Cibola, when I got the MXT because I was after more depth and just didn't see the usefulness of the dual disc. on the Tejon. Fact is, when I find an area that has relics I tend to hunt in all metal (unless its impossible because of can slaw or shredded siding or something like that) and to me the more disc. I use the less depth I'm going to get. And, face it, there aren't that many CW sites to hunt that haven't been hunted before, so depth is everything.
