Best Tesoro for small deeper silver

Hi all. I have a Tejon and absolutely love it. But I am wondering.............. The Tejon is tuned for mid range conductives I believe, such as brass, bronze, nickel, gold etc. And one of the coins that I seek (I go for coins and relics) is the old pre 1921 sterling silver Canadian five cent piece. These are smaller in diameter and thinner than a North American dime. With some depth and or standing on edge these boogers are a tough catch. So.... is there a Tesoro that is tuned specifically for high conductives like copper\silver AND still gets great depth ? I can and do hit nice deep coins with the Tejon but I can't help wonder if I'm missing some of those tiny silvers due to its conductivity range ?

I think you have the best Tesoro for that right now.

While the kHz of a detector does matter, its not the issue it once was.

I'm not tech savy detectorist, but I do know that its not the frequency of the machine that matters as much as how the detector processes that frequency.

Good luck and happy hunting!

Tesoro is due for a H.O.T new coin machine. The detector you are looking for in Tesoro has not been released yet and I for one wish they would get going. Regardless, that Tejon is going to serve you well. I have not used one but it is a Tesoro legacy and it can find them thin coins you are looking for.

Have you tried a ground test with one of those fishscales?
Bury one at various depths and keep adjusting the Tejon and see what happens.
You'll get an idea what the Tejon will do with them.

For those that don't know the 5 cent fishscale is the size of a US 3 cent silver

Those would not be considered a high conductive target. The Tejon would do fine.

Some of the smallest silver I have found have been found with the Silver Sabre II, Eldorado (Umax type) and DeLeon...soooo, perhaps some of the older Tesoro models may do better for you...Cant say they will, because sometimes it's the bloke on the top end of the detector who actually picks up on the targets, and this can come down to hearing ability and the quality of your headphones, amongst other things. The main thing is to persevere...dont give up and be alert to those "different" signals. To get tiny targets requires more than the detector doing its job...it also requires us to put in the hard yards and be prepared to dig lots (of everything). HH

hiya,,,the cibola and vachero, work great as does the lobo,(,that machine hits little silver bits hard also i am told ) on the old english hammerred coins and celt gold n silver ,,so i would go with those guys,,best of luck :ukflag:
