The town i grew up in has lots of old houses. But this one big old brick 2 story house will a big 1897 on the side of it on the 2nd floor was nice to see. It was built as a hospital. then a residence. Now apartment building. Well i got the number of the owner and he said go ahead, just dont leave holes in the lawn. So today i drove the 50minute drive to do some swinging. I use the se pro and left on the 12x15 sef coil. Started in the back but the lawn just looked to much like back fill. Then the owner showed up and said the driveway use to be here going by the old records of the place. So i headed for the front lawn.:detecting: That ran all the way to the main highway from the front of the house about 100 feet by 125 feet wide will a nice old grown up sidewalk and 5 big old trees. The ground was dry and hard. Didnt take long and at 6" a 1953s rosey Ten feet later and @ 7" a 1902 barber dime. Made my way to one of the trees by the road and @ 7" a 1935s merc. Then rite next to the old sidewalk and again @7" a 1920 merc. Later on @ 7" another merc 1937s. And a pile of wheat cents counted 23 of them. At least most of them are, there mite b a injun in there. They are heavily packed with green hard dirt on them.In the tumbler now. Then i dug my first buffalo EVER:), then another.:clapping:both no dates. A small sterling ring, A mans ring that use to be gold plated but broke and has a big red stone on top. Then by a tree with a dime reading @8" GOLD:surprised: It is green on the back with the from all gold flower designs and swearly stuff. Heavy for it size, egg shaped Dime size up and 3/16 longer than a Dime. My best day by far. But just dimes. NOT complaining though. After 5 hours of swinging the se pro. in the fresh air and 75 degrees. Im tuckered out. BUT i will sleep nice. Still cant figure out my dang laptop with the camera sd card. :ranting:

Sounds like one heck of a memorable hunt ... congrats ! Looking forward to those pictures !!

Great day and just think if the ground was a little suitable...Actually have had a lot of no's asking to hunt various areas but once in a while you get a yes and reap the goodies.

Liability rel insurance regs have made a lot of land owners cautious and yep also those vandals that destroy and keep us out of local parks as fences and no detecting signs go up...

That's a great bunch of finds, congrats!

THANKS. I JUST GOT PERMISSION TO HUNT A BIG AREA THAT USED TO HOLD CARNIVALS WAY BACK WHEN. THINK I WILL START ON SAT. TODAY AT A PARK GOT A STERLING RING AND A WELL WORN 1917 MERC.

Man, Richard. You may have just hit the jackpot! I'd love to join you on that new spot. I have a spot like that here, that I'm dying to get on, but it's off limits. I've asked several times; the company that owns the property consistently says "NO." Liability concerns.

Nice job on the ring and the Merc today!

Steve

THANK YOU. I WISH I HAD A DETECTING PARTNER TO COVER THIS AREA. DONT THINK I COULD COVER IT ALL. BESIDES ITS 50 MINUTES FROM ME. BUT WORTH THE JOY OF SILVER. :)
