Best silicone grease brand?

I'm looking at getting some silicone grease to touch up the coil and headphone connections on my AT Pro before I take it in the water again. I've gone land hunting many times in the two years since I've had the detector, but it's only been submerged a few times, so I figure I better make sure everything is well-greased. Is there any brand of grease that works particularly well for the ATP's connections?

I would go to a swimming pool shop and get it. They use it on orings that are used on items that need to be sealed so not to leak and prevent dry rotting of orings. It helps with leaks.

As mentioned above plumbers grease Home Depot,Lowe's,ect.

Go to any auto parts store and get some dielectric compound made specifically for what you are describing. A little bit goes a long way. for about $3 or so.

Loctite - .33OZ LUBRICANT DIELECTRIC GREASE
Silicone based paste-form lubricant
High dielectric strength
Creates moisture-proof wall that protects and lubricates electrical equipment
Protects from dirt, salt and corrosion
Excellent thermal, chemical and oxidation stability
Use with plastic, ceramic and rubber

I figure if it's good enough for air tanks when diving, it's good enough to water-proof my water detectors.

Word of caution. Be very careful when you have the connections open with the silicone grease applied to them.
The grease is a magnet for any dirt that it may come in contact with. A hair or a grain of sand may cause your 0-ring
to fail.

Yup! Very good point!

I figure if it's good enough for the family car electronics and connectors, it's good for the Pro.

How often do you need to use this grease? I've never taken my headphones or coil off my AT/Pro since I got it a few months ago.

I've had my machine for a year now. I've got four different that I use, depending on the site and situation. Besides the headphone, I used a little on each coil cable. It does not "wear out". Another place to use it is on the battery door. Whatever you are doing, fongu, don't change. You are having great success.
