best settings for garrett 250

Well, some like to hunt in all metal, and listening to the various tones helps to decide what they want to dig. I Hunt with as much sensitivity as possible, and usually go with the relic mode as it eliminates the rusty nails and other low conductivity junk targets.

It really depends on where you are. There isn't much to set on the 250 except for the Sens. and notch discrimination. Sensitivity should be set where the machine runs smooth without a bunch of falsing. I run mine at 4 bars (50%). Some can run it higher. As far as Disc., you can either pick one of the 4 preset modes or set yourself one up in the Custom mode. Just depends on where you are hunting (ie: a park with a bunch of trash, Coins mode to cherry pick coins and silver rings)It's really a personal thing once you get the Sens. where you like it. Good luck and let us know how you make out!!

THere aren't to many settings other than choice of modes and discrimination. Just watch the sensitivity. Start out at four bars and work up if you can. Scan slow and you won't miss many targets. Practice your pinpointing as getting the target correctly centered will save you a lot of frustration.
