WHAT IS THE BEST SETTINGS FOR COIN SHOOTING ON BEACHES AND IN A FIELD OF DIRT. I NEED TO GET THIS THING PAID FOR AND AT THE RATE I AM GOING I WILL BE 1000 YEARS OLD.

you've got the multi tones to guide yourself on.Run her at no dism.,no notch, and use your ears.If theres coins to be found you'll swing your coil over them,if your not finding any..your in the wrong spot.

One gold band is worth a lot of quarters. Get Wet Aquacop and get some REAL Loot. That will pay off your machine in no time. Adjust the brain and the body will follow.

I CAN'T FIT MY FAT AUSS INTO MY WETSUIT ANYMORE. TOOK A RAOD TRIP TO DESTIN JUST TO FIND I HAVE GAINED SOME MAJOR POUNDAGE. I THOUGHT I WOULD TRY TO PULL SOME SILVER MONEY OUT OF THE GROUND UNTILL I CAN GET A NEW SUIT.

if you have a park that hasn't been hit by a sovereign crank the disc. all the way up and dig every signal. the first year with my sovereign i dug 36 mercs in parks that had been hunted to death by lots of hunters. a lot of these only read in the 140,s on the meter but gave a signal at full disc. i wouldn't have dug that number at 0 disc.

How long you been using the Excallibur?? It takes time to get used to it and understand it, but the tones is what you use to ID your targets and better then any settings you can do. Most you will find run no disc or notch, go slow and listen for the tones of a good target which you will learn as you go. Once you get to know it you will find this is one of the easiest detectors to use and gives you the best ID. Remember any copper penny, dimes, quarters and even pieces of alum can will sound the same as silver, but pull tabs will sound different along with nickles too have a different tones to them.
I tell many that call me or ask how long it will take to get what they pay for their detector out of it I tell them one good find will do it or maybe in 20 year they wont have it paid for yet and depends on how much you want to get out and put into this hobby. It is not about making money, but enjoying this great hobby with the benefits of maybe finding a once in a life time find.

Talking to a state park ranger Friday, he said most of the reported
losses of rings to him are in the dry sand. I thought that to be
strange. He said it was because of the suntan lotion getting their
fingers greasey. I don't hunt up their much, but I guess he is in
contact with the public more than me.So I guess it's where you
find it.I prefer the water,as it's less crowded,and I just like
to be in, on, or under the water.I have an Excal coming around
Wednesday, and hope to be able to mix it with scuba. Not too many
around here into that, according to the dive shop owner I talked
to Thursday.Hope it works out that way.Always wonder what's out
there where no one goes, besides sharks.Maybe things from the very
early era.HH Joe

Way to Go - Joe! Congrats on the Excal she is one fine machine. I to am curious about what is out there, just a little deeper than anyone else goes. Getting PADI certified this month while in Cancun (the water is 80 + degrees) and I can't wait to go where few other detectorists go. I'm sure we'll be comparing notes and finds soon.

Good Luck,

BDA:cool:

i'm in owensboro. i've got a friend thats lived in somerset for several years now. don martin, don't keep in touch with him any more.

Hope to get a lot more bottom time this year.Have to get my skill
levels up, and log some time in my book.Only have 2 tanks out of
4 that are in hydro, and the other 2 are pre-1988,so not too many
shops will fill them, and soon none.So I better start getting my
money's worth out of them,or build a hooka rig. Let me know how it
goes,be careful and have fun.Good luck and HH Joe
