Best setting for detecting old (and deep) coins?

I've had my MXT for about 3 weeks now, and have used it for about 30 hours. I am in Europe right now and I have been hunting primarily for coins. I have used the detector exclusevely in Relic mode, trigger center, disc at preset. I am fairly familiar with the machine at this setting, and can tell when I've hit a coin (or another small flat object) by the sounds the program produces.

I've have been doing some air test, trying to compare the Relic mode to the Coin and Jewelry program. It 'seems' to me as if there is a very slight depth advantage to the Coin and Jewelery program on coins. However I am not 100% sure, that is why I am asking you guys. Also, the tones the Coin and Jewelery program makes are quite different from the Relic mode, so it will take some learning.

I am using my 6x10 coil a majority of the time around old houses, and Super 12" on open fields and cleaner sites.

I appreciate your help.

Ive read in one of the forums that,,,,for "Deepest" searching, prospecting mode, "sat" at preset,"gain" as much as you can until it chatters then back off until it doesn't.Dig anything that is 40% or less (smaller percentage means less possibility it's an iron target).Going into "Hypersat" is only used when you have extreme mineralization (usually used in extreme nugget hunting). Watch your signagraph screen for the changes.Deep targets might not "Beep" (or zip).

Hope this helps (anyone can correct my advise if it is incorrect)

In the spots around here (mostly hammered parks) I'll usually hunt in the coin/jewelry mode with the discrimination turned off and watch the numbers. In trashy areas I have to turn the discrimination up though.
