Here is the idea behind this post, first,
Its not about brand!
Its not about this vs that one!
Its about taking a group of detectors that a person has like mine,
Old Teknetics 8500 hip mount with a 10" spider coil.
Whites XLT with 950, 800, & 600 coils.
Fisher Coin$trike with 8" & 5.5" coils
Fisher 1266 with 10.5"- 8"- & 5" coils
Fisher F2 with 8" & 4" coils.
and setting each one up for what it does best or setting it up to be different enough in performance to be able to catch some over looked targets in area's that you've already hunted.
Yes, I'm looking for input or just some other ideas, some I may use and some I may not!
Here is a little help,
No Beach Hunting!
Relic hunting is out, at lest for now!
Included is,
Coin Shooting, (Old and new)
Jewelery hunting for sure,
Now I have a little start on this, the Teknetics 8500 for as long as it runs I'm thinking of it as a Cherry Picker detector, its a fast sweep detector,
It Id's very well,
The hip mount makes it like swinging nothing,
The 10" coil and fast sweep I can cover a LOT of field pretty darn quick.
Now the other detectors I'm a little more foggy about.
I'm thinking the little F2 would be a really good tot-lot detector?
The most difficult is the Coin$trike and the XLT?
How could I set them up to get the most out of each and them being different compliment each other?
In general I'm thinking that there is places where the XLT might run where the C$ may not (EMI issues)?
Then I'm thinking, okay, what if I put the CS-5 small coil on the C$ for smaller tighter trashier area's and left the 950 coil on the XLT for more open fields or larger less trashier area's?
And then there is the 1266?
Now, I'm open for any ideas about any of my detectors, except for the Tek 8500 with what I've got its just best suited for Cherry Picking.
Look at the list, how would you set them up?
Or in your main group of not more then 5 or 6 detectors how do you have yours setup?
You would consider_______________________________________________
