Whites. Absolute hit and knock-out.

Surf PI PRO can be bought even cheaper ($600) as it is considered "discontinued":goodnight: but the only argomatical difference is a bit bigger coil. Otherwise - the same machine. Well proven and excellent. Second to none.:stretcher:

if they are loaded with iron you don't' want a PI like the Dual Field or PI Pro or any other PI or you will spend your days digging iron. However if your beaches are fairly devoid of iron than a PI is the way to go. Just like anything you need the right tool for the job/location. If there is a lot of iron where you will be hunting then a multifrequency detector like the Minelab Excalibur or the Whites newest Beachunter 300 (BH300). JMHO

100% adree. Just a little side note.
Platinum and iron give exactly the same signal on any machine. To disk-out iron = risk of missing platinum.

But they were totally incorrect! Just like gold Platinum rings can read anywhere from Foil all the way up to about Zinc Penny on a TID Detector. I would agree that there maybe some really tiny Platinum rings that may read in the high iron area of a detector Discrimination range and thus be missed when using iron level rejection. But if your statement were correct there would be 6 more Platinum rings still out on the Beach this year that I would have missed. I always hunt with iron discrimination as I hunt with a Minelab Sov GT which is the land version of the Excalibur. In Disc Mode it always rejects iron and I have no problem finding Platinum rings with it.
