Best PP 4 the $

I have a Harbor Freight pinpointer but the switch has recently started to be flaky which is not conducive to finding goodies. I am thinking about getting another rather than investing the time and $ to fix it.

What pinpointer is best for the money in the $50 price range?

What pinpointer is best for the money in the $100 price range?

Garrett Pro Pointer for $100 plus
Have a Whites Bulleye 11 for $50 plus use as a backup.
Pro pointer better of the two.
I,ve seen PP on Findmall selling for around $80

Why even fool w/ a PP ?? Are you workin' your unit, or, is your unit workin' you?? Learn your unit! Visual & audio pinpointation will become adheisive after a while of trial! An extra widget to carry is just an extra. Been doin' this for 35 years & learned to PP myself, w/ my unit! But, some folks might need one, depending on how they hunt. I'm just sayin'.....

I have the Garrett and I love it. Less time retriving targets = more time swinging a detector = more targets found. Plus if you use your head you will find all sorts of places to search with the PP, where a detector won't work.

I am lost without my pin pointer...I use a modified Bounty Hunter...I brought the LED to the outside of the case, added a higher dB buzzer, and tweaked an internal adjustment to get more depth out of the unit (at the cost of eating batteries fast, but not that much)...I can hit a quarter at 1 1/4 inches as compared to the 1/2" out of the box...If I forget my pin pointer, I might as well go home, or just hit the wood chips, because if I have to find deep targets in the grass or hard ground...Forget it....I am going home...

HH,

10 -4 there folks! Didn't mean to ruffle any feathers (if I did)....sorry! Guess it's just the terrain where you're swingin'. I live in this 150 year old town (Americana... ya know).... & use a BH SS II UM.... a coin findin' son-of-a-gun! This whole town is hot.... sidewalks, churchyards, & individual yards..... I'll wear my unit out before I've got the whole town covered! LOL HH & Good Luck Bigsquid55

Buy the Garrett Pro Pointer and save the time and expense of going through the others till you get to the Garrett. It is a very rugged unit. The Pistol Pointer (Deterpro I think) Has better depth but is not as rugged from what I have read. I can hunt with or with out, but recovery time is quicker. I do wish the Garrett had about 2x the depth but that is OK. There is a trick for the Garrett, If you slide a coin down the PP till it sounds off then back up till it quiets down you will double the depth, or so. It works.

IMHO
