Best portable battery charger for in the field detecting?

Tony N (Michigan)

I see on Amazon there are a lot of different portable USB battery power packs to charge devices.
Is the Anker PowerCore 2600 Portable Charger pretty good for the Deus?
Or do you know of a better or cheaper brand?

Because when I turn off the car all the outlets turn off too. I wouldn't want to run the engine for 2 1/2 hours to charge everything.
Chevy said they can't rig my outlets to stay on when the engine turns off.

Sorry, I was going by my vehicles ignition switch system. I use the auxiliary switch, (first setting as I turn the key). It powers the radio if turned on, and the aux. power supply recepticle.

I don't have a Deus, but I researched them. If I remember correctly, the systems, including the coil, will operate for 20+ hrs on a charge.

One of my detectors primary power supply is a rechargable Li-ion battery with a 13 hr +/- operating life per charge. I've never had to switch to the aux. Alkiline battery pack, or done a recharge via the car charger, even during a solid days detecting. I got into the habit of throwing it on the house charger right after, or, just prior to using it. I would think, if you did the same, you wouldn't have any issues in the field, given of course that the battery is functioning properly.

I think the Deus has a AA Alkiline battery emergency charger available too?

Good luck with your machine!

This is the one I carry. I don't know if it's the best but it works very well. Also from Amazon

I must not be detecting enough, I have not been able to use up my battery in a single day yet. I can see these would be nice in case of an emergency, like I forgot to charge before going out. I think it would really be great for the Ml-6 pinpointed as I can see where I would forget to check charge on that.

The coil runs down faster than the remote and headphones so I charge it when the battery on the remote shows about half discharge.

If you ever mistakenly leave your headphones on, it will run the battery down. So you could get to a site and not have power. If you had a charger you could charge up while you're detecting with your back up detector.

I go out on long remote trips via vehicle (Chev Truck and the outlets work when not running??) and foot often and find the portable batteries work great. I picked up 2 6000mah batteries for $20 SAMS..
