Best places to sell gold finds.....?

Parkit

I recently found a 14kt white gold men's wedding band, took it to the local pawn shop and they wanted to give me ... $10. I kept it and came home disgusted. I'm quite sure they would have been happy to give me the ten bucks then turn a gigantic profit, but I really have no idea what it's worth. So what's a better alternative to the pawn shop? Jewelry shop? I can't stand selling things on eBay so that's not an option for me. Where to you lake looters sell your finds, and do you get spot gold prices or what? While I'm at it, what do you do with your rings that have gems? Do you have them appraised, then sell them, keep them or what?

Thanks,
Steve

for the spot value of gold. At todays rate ($666.20) an 8 gram 14k ring is worth $100.00. Less midwest fees you would get $94.00 minus any shipping/handling charges you incur....

So basically you need a scale of some kind and that's it? Thanks for the info, $90+ beats the p#%s out of $10! THANKS for the input.

When the price is down, send in the gold and have is made into bullion coins. These will be real value, and liquid if you need the cash in the future. It is easier to store than hundreds of rings.
