Ok digging so many holes and searching the dirt is getting a bit crazy. I searched 20 minutes and found the back of a dang earring in the dirt!!!!! You know how hard that was to find and the dam thing is it was 8" in the ground!!!!! I never dug so deep for something so small. I really never thought the ace would go that deep for something that small. I was in a really wet area and could easily turn the sensitivity to 7 with no false signals. Everything I dug I recovered.

Neatest thing I recovered looks like an old aluminum hair brush. I was searching the outskirts of an old school from long long ago thats off limits to everyone. But my wifes parents have the lot next to it. I found many bottles with metal caps and almost cut a electrical line that someone dug 3" underground !!!!!

Having a pro pointer would be the best. I tried like heck to make small holes and pinpoint. I did make a small hole on top but dug way around underneath. When I was done you could barely tell. But with pro-pointer I think I could make it like I was never there.

This is really got me hooked I am enjoying this more and more

I am surprised the comments I get while out. I have never been called a dork so much in my life by people passing by. I like it so they can call me what they will. Hopefully I find something of theirs one day

Yeah, I imagine some have thought it, but I've never had anybody say that to me either.

People always ask me what I've found too.

I'm always friendly but I always say I've found nothing of value, whether I have or not.

There's been plenty of people on this forum who have shared horror stories that happened when they showed off nice finds to strangers.

Yeah one never knows what to expect out there. On a lighter side - one day I was detecting and this edlerly lady was standing of to the side of me watching my every move very intently. Soon she walked over and asked me where she could buy a weed eater that run that quiet.

The Ace is a great machine and it will go deep. I got my pin pointer from kellyco and the pin pointer will cut your recovery time drastically. Have fun!!

The most common thing people say to me is "I've always wanted to get one of those" and the most common question they ask is "Do those things really work?". I have had some people mutter or say things but I always wear headphones so most of the time I don't hear them unless they actually walk right up to me. I think by wearing headphones and not looking directly at people they eventually lose intrest and move on.
