Best place to install the control box on a waterproof Ace 250 unit?

I posted this question on the beach forum and haven't recieved any replys. So I'm going to ask here.
I'm making a waterproof Ace 250 for fresh water hunting. The waterproof box should be the same size as the stock control head. I have plenty of coil cable to mount the head 1. original position. 2. under pole mount in front of the grip. 3. hip mount. 4. behind the back. 5. chest mount. 6. the very back under the detector rest.
I have only been knee deep and I don't want to be remounting the control everywhere to find the best place for it. I know it would be what's comfortable for me. But I wanted to hear from the experienced water hunters. Thanks.

Under the arm, Kenny, or chest mount.

Dave,
Thanks for the reply. Since I'm a righty I thought then I would mount the control on my left hip below my left arm. Then run the cable around behind me. Is this what your were thinking?

I like it on my head. It makes the unit soooooo lite and no headphones required. But the box on the fly is good too.

John,
You have conjured up many images in my mind. On your head? I heard about one guy who carried it on his shoulder in the water. Your going to have to post some pictures!!!

No, Kenny. I meant under the rod below the forearm. I have tried hipmounting and things always seemed to just be in the way there, clanking into scopps etc... I prefer under the arm or on the chest - both out of harms way.

I have a place to mount the box under my detector stand?

I've seen someone else say that too. Unless they have a different Ace I dont see how. What Im referring to is the Ace in a waterproof box, affixed beneath your swinging arm on the rod.
