im pretty new at detecting, found some stuff, mostly pennies. just have small parks in my area! i dont no were else i can look. maybe some of you guys and gals can help me, sinse youve bin @ it alot longer than i. thanks also must give thanks to father.

Parks are good, but they have been hammered . Everyone hunts there, and that's o k because its a renewable resource. You must know people who live in old homes who will give you permission to hunt their yards. Also the area between the sidewalk and street in older neighborhoods. These are areas that will produce older coins and stuff. Just remember that people parked along those streets, and walked those sidewalks, loosing stuff for years. Just remember that you must be very neat in covering your holes. When you are through, people should not be able to tell that you were there.
Welcome to CMDF. There are a lot of experienced people here who are happy to help new comers.

Maybe you can find someone in your area to go detecting with. You might see if there is a detecting club in your area. That would be a big help. Good luck.

cleaned out all the small parks in the area then move on to bigger sites. Old houses that are vacant; old motels out of business; school's play areas; etc.
By doing the small park's places you will get the hang of your machine. Just my advice- good luck - keep us posted, steve in so az

to leave all places I detect looking as good or better than when I started! Also permission is a must for private homes, some State and County Parks and etc and private camp grounds! Lots of campgrounds and rest areas to be able to hunt....so go get those elusive coins and treasure! :)

God Bless!

Where ya from? There are and endless supply of great sites to hunt. First I need to know where you are from?

ha mike, im from downingtown pa. close to lancaster pa. you no horse & buggy area. about 50 miles from phila. pa. i can get to the brandywine battle feild in 30 min. i was thinking of trying the brandywine creek just outside the posted areas. when the water is low. i fish that creek and know it well, theres alot of tilled feilds all along the creek.im gona hit it hard, when the weather gets better. were are you from? if you, or anyone else would like to do a trip some time, just let me no. i can use the canoe, i think that would be the best way to hit all sand bars, feilds, etc.. also find alot of arrow heads, God bless.

Horse & buggy area too! But I am in SW Michigan. We have many Amish just 5 miles south of me. I love to hunt CW relics. I have attended 6 organized hunts in Virginia and Mississippi. I just may take you up on your offer! Thanks! :)
