Best One Hole Find

Rob (IL)

New member
This is my best one hole find yet. There were 20 quarters, 8 dimes and 3 nickels in one hole. I found them in left field of a baseball field. $5.95 out of one hole is not bad. You can see imprints on some of the quarters where they were stacked. The first VDI was 89 - 90. With so many coins the 6 x 10 didn't want to pinpoint off the end of the coil at times. Rob

WOW, that's cool Rob. What a cache! That makes for a great day out in the ball field.

Makes you wonder what was going on at that sight, so as to lose all that change. Its definitely a nice cache find. HH Dennis in Idaho

You sure got my best beat. You can see amazing things while detecting. I found about $3.58 all in one spot. Obvisiously a pocket dump. But it had to be laying there quite a while on top and nobody sees it. Missing a single coin is one thing but a pocket full. My bunch were starting to work their way in to the roots so had to be there maybe a month or more. Anyway interesting.

The first coins were 2" deep but some had worked down to four inches.

Rob, I once found 22 coins in one hole along a fence at an elementary school that were all clad. For old coins, I found 10 coins in one hole at an old farm house. These included two Barber dimes, 4 Indian heads, 1 old buffalo nickle, one old Standing Lierty, and 2 old wheats. It is the most exciting aspect of coin hunting to find one old coin and hear more when you rescan the hole. You know everything coming out is OLD! This is where a probe comes in handy. At any rate, finding any multiple coin find is fantastic. R.L.

RL, I would rather have found those 10 old coins any day. Old sites are not many where I live. Good luck. Rob
