I've been a relic hunter for the last two years, but I've decided to branch out into coin and jewelry hunting. I have been clad hunting a few times now with the Xterra 70 and have done fine, but its been brought to my attention that for gold jewelry I really need something a little higher in frequency. I bought a 10.5" 7.5 kHz for relic hunting with this machine, figuring it would cut down on the annoying bits of high conducting trash and make it easier to distinguish the sounds of iron. If I were to get a high frequency coil (9" or 10.5") for coins and jewelry, is there any method to avoid/hear those annoying bits of aluminum can slaw, siding bits, and other small high conducting junk? Or, am I going to be reduced to digging all?
