Best hipmount for EXCAL?

Tom/Cocoa

Active member
Just ordered my new Excal this morning. I want to hip mount the excal. Can anyone tell me where to buy a good hipmount. Not sure about the one Minelab makes but will get that if I have to.
Thank's
HH TOM

Tom,

I made one for my Excalibur. All I did was take a piece of PVC piping, cut a slot in it at the top, placed three holes in it to match the battery and main body, and used three screws with wing nuts to hold it together. The slot fit a divers weight belt I bought. This belt holds the detector, my collection bag and also a slip that I use to clip my scoop on so I can drag it behind me without any hands while not in use. Not the prettiest but it works well.

Hey Tom, You really should consider a after market straight shaft for your EXCALIBUR. It re-distributes the weight, so you can hunt longer, and it has an armcup with an arm strap. If you ever use one, you won't go back to the standard shaft. I have a used one-piece Bill Babbs Straight Shaft Assembly for sale. I am about to post it on the classified forum for $55 shipped UPS Insured to lower 48 states. I also have a EXCALIBUR E-Z TOTE Hipmount Assembly for the Older Model Excalibur, but you would have to do some modifications to it, inorder to make it fit your newer model EXCALIBUR. I am selling it for $35.00 shipped insured to lower 48 states. I cannot post any pictures of the items, do not have the technology or skills to do so.
But, if you are interested, or have any questions, feel free to call me anytime, day or up til late nite 2am.E.S.T.(I'm a niteowl). My ph# (302) 354-5661, if I don't answer, leave your ph#, and I'll call you back on my dime. Good luck with whatever you decide, HH
