Newbie here mining for little nuggets of wisdom and knowledge from the experienced hunters.Looking for the best all around digging tools to use-brands,models,stores etc...All opinions welcome. Thanks again.

You need to be more specific. What and where are going to be digging for; coins, gold nuggets, relics, etc. You could need anything from an icepick to a backhoe.

In my opinion, (and I am not and expert, that is for sure!!!), you can do no better than Predator digging tools. Anyone please correct me if you disagree but they are the most rugged, most dependable diggers made, bar none!!! I personally use the model #85 and am in the process of ordering the Raptor. The Predator website is down at the moment but you can get a peek at them at demarco sales website. I truly think you can do no better. -Kevin

And, the website is BACK UP!!! It is slootrotaderp, backwards, .com DO NOT put www in front of it or you will NOT get to the right site!!!

As silversniper stated, The Predator Model 85 is as good as they get. Nearly impossible to bend under normal digging situations, plus a saw-toothed edge for root cutting. I prefer the Model 85 over the Model 75 for two reasons. First, it has a orange handle which makes the tool much easier to find if you should forget to put it back in the holster after digging. You'd be surprised at how difficult it is to locate a tool with a black handle, especially among leave litter in wooded areas. Second, it doesn't have the knurled metal screw cap on the end of the handle, which can cause a sore hand or a blister if you do a lot of digging. If you wear gloves when you dig, this won't be a problem, but I don't wear them. The Predator Model 85 can be ordered through the Predator Tools web site, or Demarco Detector Sales, both are Find's Treasure Forums sponsors.
