Best Day Ever

I was at the beach this morning before the sun got there. Proceeded to do some dry sand detecting while i waited for the tide to get on towards low.

Dug some clad and then hit the hard sand/shell. Dug half way to china on a target and a Go Pro Hero 2 came out of the sand. Was down at least 15 inches in that hard stuff.

Then I went across the sand bar and started working in the wash zone of the surf. Had one target. The Excal was giving a tone that I had never heard before. Scooped the target dumped the scoop and let the surf wash away some of the sand. Scooped the target and found a Nice Shiny Silver colored ring in the scoop. Picked it up and realized it was too heavy to be sterling silver so I was hoping for Gold. Got out the magnifying glass and found "Tacori Plat" as the hallmark. My First Platinum ring. 9.7 grams.

When the tide turned and started coming back in I proceeded to go back to the hard sand/shell area and had a strong signal that begged to be dug. Scooped the target and noticed a young lady watching me intently so I proceeded to go down the slope to the water to wash the contents of the scoop. Saw a watch in the scoop so I discretely put it in my pocket.

The watch is a Hugo Boss Chronograph. Retail on their web site is $395.00 It is water resistant to 5atm and is still running. It is off on the date by one day so it has been there for at least a couple of weeks.

I just had my best day ever. I Do not expect to ever have a better day. The Adrenaline rush may wear off in a day or two.

What an awesome day it's been for you! 3 super nice finds in one day and I myself would have been VERY happy with just the ring!!:clapping:

I bet you are still shaking your head and grinning after a day like that, those are some great finds. Congrats on the first Plat!!!
 
Now you can be the guy who tells all the other detectorists " you should have been here yesterday " .. ive never found platnum myself.. right place at the right time with the right machine and all the planets lined up... ive experienced two jaw dropping hunts in my life and boy they sure are fun..... congrats on some fine merchandise. ...

Curious does the Go Pro 2 still work ?
 
Woodchuck I am an OLD Retired Navy Submariner and we had to fill out a "Qualifications Card" for everything that we did.
I haven't found the appropriate Qual Card for GoPro cameras plus The owners Manual was included in the find. .

Since I am not qualified to operate a Go Pro Camera my next door neighbor has it trying to see if the battery will charge. Dont know yet if it works or not. There did not appear to be any water inside the waterproof housing.
 
Matt I did my best to act as nonchalant as possible. But It was very difficult to do so when the Adrenaline level was sky high. My wife swears that there dents in the walls where I was bouncing off them when I got home. I would have to find one of Edward Teach's (BlackBeard) stashes to have a better day.

Talked to my Neighbor today and he said that the battery charged up and the camera works as it is supposed to. Now I need to find a copy of the users manual so that I can learn how to use it.
 
Outstanding finds!
Found my first platinum not to long ago. Rang up in the gold tone area of the At Pro.
If the Go Pro works, hope to see some cool videos from you :)
