to tell you the truth, I can't remember ever hunting in this kind of weather and ground conditions in December before. It got up to 60 degrees F. yesterday and still no frost in the ground here in NE Nebraska. Dry and hard yes, but no frost. I saw where a house had been moved onto a longtime vacant lot in town and it looked like they had scraped the yard. Looked like they had disked it almost as there were windrows of earth. It hadn't been seeded and when I asked the owner yes.
My first target was a 1925D wheatie, then an 1882 IH penny. Another 2 wheaties(1925 and 191 and then out pops a 1900o barber dime in very worn condition. Lots of crap and no other coins in about 2 hours. Didn't cover it all so hope to get back a few times before he puts a yard in.AT pro in pro mode coins, 2 bars short of maxed out sensitivity and it ran smoothly. Running the 8x5DD coil. It falsed a little if I ran across the rows of earth with about 4 inch dropoffs between rows. Didn't if I ran with the rows. Is that normal?? Signals came thru nice and clear though.
This is going to make winter seem even longer this year, once bad weather hits. Come on spring. Good luck and HH. Bob.
