Best Coils For My XS?

I have a modified XS on Whites rod with 12X10 SEF coil. I also just got a set of Sun Ray Pro Gold headphones and to me they seem a match made in heaven with the XS! More so than on my other machines. If I wanted to use my XS for all-round land hunting from mountains to sea, which extra accessory coils would do best? I really like the 12X10 SEF and wonder if there is any need for a WOT, SR 12 or larger SEF at beach? Perhaps the 12X10 is big enough?

Now on the smaller side there are several choices and I'm thinking about the SR 8 and 5. I really do not want to duplicate sizes with multiple coils. Keeping in mind that I have the 12X10 SEF, which three extra coils would you get for an Explorer XS? I would think 4 coils should just about cover most needs? All opinions are appreciated. Thanks, SH34.

I use the WOT almost exclusively on my XS. Unfortunately, the upper rod clasp loosens so I have to intermittently slide it back on--just a quirk I need to deal with.
I find the WOT gets much better depth than my SEF 10x12. I use the SEF if it is really trashy, or if there are tighter spots.

Sorry. I don't beach hunt--just yards and fields for relics, etc.
I seem to recall others saying that the WOT is excellent on the beach

May I suggest since you got a 10x12 SEF I would have recommended the PRO coil about the same size but will make your machine lighter as it's lighter and it goes as deep and seperates as well.
NOW that being said if you get the Sunray 8" and the Sunray 5" or the 6" excelerator coil you'll have all the bases covered.
I have all three Sunray's 12", 8", 5" and the SEF 10 x12 for my Etrac besides the stock pro coil. I may try a 6" excelerator coil from Kellyco as it's just about a true 6" in size, the Sunray 5" is closer to 4 1/2 to 4 3/4 in diameter.
Their all great coils it just depends on where your hunting and how trashy it is right.

The X-5 measures 5.5" in diameter and has since we first made it in 2000. The X-8 is 8" and the X-12 is 12.5". If you actually measure it you will see for yourself.

I'm starting to lean towards the X-5, X-8 and X-12. Not really sure if I need larger or smaller coils than those 3 for my style of general hunting. Seems those 3 would cover most needs? I've always heard good things about SR coils.
