ive heard good and bad about the pro coil, i was thinking about the 8 inch sunray for all around use? any recc would be appreciated, i like my stock coil on the explorer se gets good depth, but looking for something better for seperating will be hunting woods soon. what would you guys get, also is the slim coil submersable in water? i know the se pro coil is lets say i hit the beach can i get it wet?

i use the SunRay Stealth X-8 exclusively (with the SunRay X-1 probe, of course). but that's just me...

i have the Slimline 10.5" & a 5" Excelerator. nothing wrong with them, but the X-8 gets the job done for me.

the only coil i've heard is NOT submersible is the Coiltek "Joey"... somebody else will undoubtably know more about this.

Now if you are talking a park i can see the smaller coil, but in the woods i prefer a larger coil because there isnt as much trash and it will go deeper in that case. I say carry them both and dont get stuck on one coil just like dont get stuck on the same setting.... make them work for the conditions you are in. If you get a lot of nulling in the woods from iron make some changes... like reduce sensitivity, change to ferrious sounds, or... get that small coil out. Ya joey is the one they caution DONT GET WET... otherwise just make sure you dont get the BOX wet or raise the coil above the box.

I love the 8 inch in the woods, use it all the time, pulled out a 1853-O half dime last month with it in a lot of nails from a burnt down home.
