Best coil for relics in heavy trash

Hi Everyone,

I have the 10.5 DD/ 7.5 and the stock coil. They seem to be too big for areas littered with modern thrash or CW camp iron (nails). Mineralization is also an issue in my area. Do they not make a 6" DD for the Xterra 70? That's seems to be what I would need for better separation and an ability to handle hot ground. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I believe they do make a 6' DDHF. Somewhere here a post shows all the coils made for the X-terras.

6 inch DD HF 18.75KHz, it's the Cat's Meow. Be warned though, the signals will come and go so fast that you have to slow down for your ears to keep pace. In the real thick stuff a mere wiggle will pull out minute targets like small lead shot from beds of nails. Being a DD you have to work it at 90 degree patterns, but that said you can spend hours in a 10ft x 10ft area.

I've been pinpointing with the 6 in hfdd coil in the disc mode. A little wiggle up and down then left and right gets me dead center on targets. There are only a few targets that I have to use the pp mode on - but not many. I use the same method on the stock coil too.
